Chairman of the Premier League Board Welbeck Abra-Appiah has expressed shock at AshantiGold CEO Kudjoe Fianoo's defeat in the GFA Executive Committee election on Tuesday.

According to the PLB Boss, the clout of Fianoo did not give any hint that he could lose the election on a first round and that is a big blow to the sports in the country.

Fianoo polled five votes.

Speaking exclusively to GHANAsoccernet.com, Abra-Appiah said: "I am shocked by the fact that Kudjoe Fianoo did not win. But I am happy that we now have a lot of premier league representatives on the Ex. Co.”

“I am personally surprised at the loss of Kudjoe Fianoe because he is a workaholic and very open. He is a jovial character who is loved by everyone. His loss is painful because we’ve lost a gem in our football administration,” he added.
