Kano Pillars defender Jamiu Alimi believes only a win over Ikorodu United this Sunday will atone for their painful loss to Enyimba of Aba inWednesday's rescheduled Nigerian Professional Football League fixture.

Alimi insists the team must get their heads together and maintain their title charge and redeem themselves in  front of their home fans.

"It was a painful defeat considering the effort the entire team put into winning the game," Alimi told Completesportsnigeria.com

"We must redeem ourselves by beating Ikorodu United on Sunday and battle on in the title fight."

The Super Eagles B defender who is currently on a season-long loan deal from Westerlo Academy has featured in all games for Pillars this term.
