Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has broken the club's all-time scoring record, netting his 178th goal against Napoli in his team's 4-2 Champions League win on Wednesday.
Aguero scored in the 69th minute in City's Group F match at the Stadio San Paolo in Naples, to go along with goals from Nicolas Otamendi, John Stones and Raheem Sterling to help Man City qualify for the round of 16.
The Argentina international has now moved ahead of Eric Brook's all-time scoring tally. Brook played 453 games for City between 1928 and 1940 and led the club's scoring charts since overtaking Tom Johnson's total of 166. Brook's record-breaking effort came away to Bradford City in September 1938.
The 29-year-old's record tally has come in considerably fewer performances too with his 177 goals scored from just 262 matches in just over six years at the club.

Aguero scored twice on his debut as a substitute against Swansea City in August 2011 following his £38 million move from Atletico Madrid and has scored more than 20 goals in a season in four out of his six seasons at the Etihad.
He became the second fastest to reach that target in history -- and has also scored more Premier League goals than any other non-European. But he will arguably never score a more important goal than his 94th minute winner against Queens Parks Rangers in May 2012 that secured City's first league title for 44 years.
