Ghana Football Association technical head Francis Oti Akenteng has offered his backing to Ghana head coach Avram Grant for his choice of friendly games in preparation for the 2015 AFCON.

The ex-Chelsea manager has come under criticisms for his choice of friendly games ahead of the tournament.

Some local pundits think the Israeli should have tested his team's strength and battle-readiness by playing other African opposition.

But Oti who is both FIFA and CAF instructor feels Grant has picked the right choice of games for his players ahead of the tournament.

"See Black Stars is a senior team and do not need the scoreline of a friendly to prove they are good, the teams they played against are credible sides and it gave the coach the platform to see how best the players can adapt to new tactics," he said.

You would realise in the first game he played 3-5-2 but varied it later but played the same tactics in the second."

Ghana have already played two friendly games, defeating Portuguese second-tier side Olhanese 3-0 and drawing 1-1 with Dutch Eredivisie side Cambuur FC.
