Striker Yahaya Mohammed insists he chose to play for Aduana Stars not necessarily for the money.

The 27-year-old has joined the Fire club on a two-year contract.

Mohammed arrives in Dormaa as a free agent having terminated his contract with Libyan club Ittihad Tripoli over unpaid wages.

The former Asante Kotoko forward was reported to be on his way to join Hearts of Oak only for Aduana to come from behind to hijack the move.

Mohammed says he chose Aduana because they showed immense interest in wanting to sign him.

“I didn’t choose Aduana because of the money even though money is also important,” he said.

“But Aduana showed clearly they needed me. There are clubs who come and later say they will call u back but they never returned.

“Aduana Stars showed immense interest and so I decided to join them.”
