Nigeria Special Eagles edged Liberia to reach the semi final of the Amputee African Cup of Nations going on in Egypt, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Amputee Eagles defeated Liberia 2-1 at the Katameya Club in the quarter final match of the competition to reach the semis and secure World Cup ticket.

The Nigeria team in the group stage played a goalless affair with host nation, Egypt before thrashing Burundi 11-0 in the last group stage match to qualify to the quarter final.

With the win against Liberia, the Eagles will now play Morocco on Saturday evening in the semi final for a place in the final.

The last time the team reached the final of the AAFCON was in 2019 in Angola, qualifying for the World Cup for the second time.
