Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is confident that winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs will provide the momentum needed to lead Nigeria to a fourth Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in 2025, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The West Africans are gearing up for the playoffs, which kick off in Morocco next Thursday, with Chelle believing that success will propel his team towards achieving their ultimate goal in the AFCON.

After the playoffs, the Super Eagles will shift their focus to the AFCON, where they've been drawn against Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda in Group C.

"We know that a successful playoff campaign will give us the confidence and momentum to go all the way in the AFCON," Chelle said.
