Ghana key player Christian Atsu is struggling to be fit for Saturday's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda after being forced off from Tuesday's friendly win over Congo.

The England-based player was taken off in the second half of the match that the Black Stars won 3-2 in Brazzaville as they prepared for the game with Rwanda in Kigali.

The Bournemouth player landed awkwardly when he went into a tackle to prevent an opponent taking advantage in a midfield struggle.

Atsu looked to suffered after he landed badly when he went into the tackle and laid on the pitch for a while before the medics intervened.

He was replaced by Andre Ayew in the second-half as Jordan Ayew scored an injury time penalty to hand Ghana a 3-2 win over Congo in an international friendly on Tuesday.

Ghana team doctors will decide whether Atsu will be fit to travel with the squad for the game in Kigali on Saturday.

Ghana travel to Rwanda for the next 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, while the Congolese take on Guinea-Bissau.
