2017 AFCON: England-based winger Adomah joins Ghana's training camp ahead of Mauritius qualifier
Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah has joined the Black Stars camp as the team prepares for the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Mauritius in Accra.
The England-based midfielder arrived in the country on Friday night from his base to join his team-mates as they prepare for two matches over the next seven days.
Adomah who was named in Coach Avram Grant’s 23-man squad for the match, joined Saturday morning’s training session at the JMG Academy in Dodowa.
He has been rewarded for his fine end-of-season displays with Middlesbrough with a recall to the Ghana squad.
The Boro winger was part of the Ghana squad that failed to win a game at last year’s World Cup finals in Brazil, but found himself shuffled out of the international picture as part of the changes that were demanded in the wake of the poor tournament showing.
He failed to make the cut for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, which saw Ghana lose to Ivory Coast on penalties in the final, but Grant was impressed with his performances in the Championship last season and has brought him back into the fold as Ghana attempt to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Gabon.
