Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Chiellini Would Be in the Hospital If I Had a Problem With Him

Published on: 17 June 2016

"?Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic insisted that Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini would be 'in the hospital' if the two had had any sort of problem between them during the Azzurri's 1-0 win on Friday, according to a report in "?Goal.com.

Italian stroler Eder ended the deadlock with just minutes to go, leaving Sweden with a solitary point as they aim to qualify for the Euro 2016 knockout stages.

During the match, Ibrahimovic appeared irate with Chiellini for a challenge on John Guidetti, however, he has since clarified that, had he truly wanted a confrontation, the Juventus centre-back would have ended up needing hospitalisation.

"Everything was okay," he told the press after the match. "It's all fine. If not, he'd be in the hospital right now."

Despite his choice words for Chiellini, Ibrahimovic was full of praise for Italy, as a whole, following the match.

"This game shows that against a team like Italy, great team that they are, you must play for the entire 90 minutes," Ibrahimovic added.

"It's not enough to play for 89. You must be cautious for the whole game."

Sweden face Belgium next, on Wednesday, in what represents their final chance to qualify for the latter stages of the competition.

Italy's six points make it more than likely that they will win the group and advance.
