NPFL: Wikki skipper Ibrahim believes win against Enyimba will calm things

Wikki Tourists captain and right back, Mustapha Ibrahim has said a win is quite crucial in the top-flight clash against former champions, Enyimba.

The side’s management had issued the coaches with three-match ultimatum so far the side have won one lost one making the tie against Enyimba a-must-win.

The Bauchi Elephants are hosts of the People’s Elephant in Wednesday’s top-flight matchday 16 clash at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBS) in Bauchi.

Ibrahim said his side are undergoing intense pressure at the moment but insisted that things will become manageable and normal after they would have beaten the six-time Nigerian champions.

“Right now there is tensed atmosphere around us may be after our expected win against Enyimba tomorrow (Wednesday) the tension will be less.

“Of course, the clash against Enyimba is quite crucial as we need a convincing performance to stave off the management hammer currently dangling on our heads.

“Even though we are determined and united that the hammer will not drop as we will survive the scare to go further to win more matches to take our rightful position on the log.

“We prepared quite well for the futile campaign at Remo Stars we have stepped up preparation knowing fully well that Enyimba will be stronger and tougher, too.

“We have steeled ourselves for the challenge and will do everything humanly possible to earn a convincing win against Enyimba.

“Our position on the log is not pleasing so we must fight hard to earn victories aimed at giving it the right boost.

“We have shown steady improvement in our past matches except the last at Remo Stars, our catchword right now is to play well and win the points,” said the former Golden Eaglets’ strongman to supersport.com.

Wikki Tourists are 17th on the 20-team top-flight on 15 points 13 behind leaders, Plateau United with a game to spare at champions, Enugu Rangers.
