Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri thinks the August Barclays Premier League Player of the Month should have gone to his player Riyad Mahrez, not Andre Ayew.

Ranieri was keen to praise Mahrez, who had a hand in all three goals scored by his side in their 3-2 win against Aston Villa on Sunday.

He feels that the Algeria international deserved the Player of the Month award ahead of Swansea City star Ayew.
