Victor Moses Caught Up In Armband Controversy After Red Card Against Arsenal

Published on: 28 May 2017

Victor Moses has come under serious criticism for his reaction after he was sent off in the 1-2 FA Cup final loss Chelsea suffered against Arsenal.

The Nigerian was sent off for picking after he was booked twice within a space of 12 minutes, first for a foul on Danny Welbeck and the other for a dive in the Arsenal box.

His sending off particularly for a dive has drawn harsh words, and Moses sparked further controversy after throwing away his black armband before heading down the player’s tunnel at Wembley.

Players from both teams wore black armband in honour of the 22 people who died in the terrorist attacks on Monday with a minute silence also held in their honour before the start of the game.
