Tottenham Reject Wolfsburg Bid for Son Heung-min and Do Not Want to Sell Winger

"?Tottenham Hotspur are believed to have rejected a formal bid from Wolfsburg for South Korean international winger Son Heung-min, a player who only moved to White Hart from Germany this time last year.

Sky Sports revealed at Tuesday lunchtime that an offer from the Bundesliga club had been turned down. It came after an earlier report from the Daily Mail that £24m was on the table.

Sky followed that up by further stating that Spurs do not want to sell Son during this transfer window, suggesting that even an improved bid from Wolfsburg might not be enough at this late stage.

In a complex chain of events there was a chance that selling Son to Wolfsburg, where Julian Draxler was said to be of interest to Paris Saint-Germain, could have opened Spurs up for a move for Wilfried Zaha or Moussa Sissoko.

Son himself told Korean news agency Yonhap News that he was trying not to think about transfers, but have the impression he was feeling somewhat uncertain about his future.

"I haven't heard anything about my transfer," the 24-year-old explained.

"I don't want to think about things happening outside the stadium. I just want to focus on playing football. It is not a good sign that transfer rumours are coming out. But I think it is meaningful that those in Germany acknowledge me."

The state of Spurs' pursuit of French winger Georges-Kevin N'Koudou also remains unknown. The Marseille talent has been 'on the verge' of joining for several weeks but after disagreements over payment structure no further progress seems to have been made.
