Tottenham Hotspur Offer £24m for Lyon Star Alexandre Lacazette

"?Tottenham are in talks with Lyon over a move for Alexandre Lacazette although there is some distance between Spurs' opening bid and the French outfit's valuation of the striker, according to Mirror Sport.

Lacazette, who scored 23 goals this season, is wanted by West Ham and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain although Spurs are currently the favourites to land the 25-year-old.

Tottenham are looking for a high quality striker to compete with Harry Kane as the North London outfit look to improve on a season that saw them finish in third place after challenging Leicester City for the Premier League title.

Lyon are open to selling Lacazette this summer and it is understood that the player is keen to play in England although Spurs' opening bid of £24m is well below the £30m the Ligue 1 side want for the player.

Spurs must conclude their business with Lyon before the end of June if they hope to stand any chance of signing him according to club president Jean-Michel Aulas.

"If on Aug. 28 we're offered €80 million for Alexandre Lacazette, he will not leave," Aulas  told L'Equipe.

"On the other hand, if he comes to see me in the next few days because he has an offer that he can't refuse, then it's possible. If there are to be departures, they'll be done before June 30."
