Ghanaian international midfielder Thomas Partey is hoping to close first round chapter of the Spanish La Liga on a happy note with a win over Valencia.

Almeria are just above the relegation zone and their berth is on better goal aggregate and need to win against Valencia at the Estadio de Mestalla to beat the drop for the first-half of the season.

And, Partey wants Los Rojiblancos to work towards victory to help them avoid slipping into the drop zone before the end of the first round.

Partey, 21, arrived at Almeria on loan from champions Atletico Madrid and has played in 15 out of Almeria's 18 La Liga games.

But he feels he needs to do more to improve on his game.

"Well I think it is going well and I know I need to perform more I'm doing but I'm happy about how things are going and I need to give thanks to God," he added.
