On loan HNK Rijeka forward Theophilus Solomon scored his first goal for his loan side Omonia Nicosia in their 3-0 win over ?Aris Limassol in what was his second game for the club.

Solomon was introduced after 69 minutes ?with Omonia two goals up and the Nigerian killed off any hope of a late rally by Aris Limassol by netting the third goal for his side on the dot of regulation time.

He made a clever run behind the defence of ?Aris and his well placed header off a cross from the right left the goalkeeper stranded as he wheeled away in celebration of his first goal for the club on his home debut.

The former Nigeria U17, 20 and 23 trainee joined the club during the January transfer window after mutually terminating his loan deal with Serbian side Partizan Belgrade, where he spent the first half of the season on loan from Rijeka.

Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com shortly after the game, the 22 year old said his aim is to score at least seven goals to help Omonia achieve their aim of playing in Europe next season.

” It feels good to be back among the goals and of course is usually a sweet thing when you score in front of your home fans in your first game at home”, Solomon told Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive chat.

” My aim is to have at least 7 goals before the end of the season. A tally I believe will be possible due to the quality of players around me, and if I can contribute that much it will help the club achieve their aim of qualifying for Europe next season”, he concluded.
