Signing Ghana winger Andre Ayew on 'free' transfer a major coup - but did not come cheap for the English Premier League side as details of the deal emerges.

Swansea City pulled of a coup last week by swooping to sign Ghana international Andre Ayew from under the noses of a host of clubs.

Ayew, 25, arrived on a free transfer after his contract at Marseille expired.

But the deal is, understandably, not a cheap one for Swansea with the striker believed to be earning £60,000-a-week over the term of his four-year contract.

Associated fees and payments, including to agents, are also thought to be around £2million.

Still Swansea will rightly argue that with no transfer fee involved the deal for such a top-notch player still represents good business.
