FC Porto defender Chidozie Awaziem didn’t complete the Super Eagles final training session ahead of their game against Congo DR on Monday in Port Hacourt after suffering an injury scare.
Awaziem went off with what looked like an ankle injury but words from medical unit of the team suggest it’s just a minor injury which might not rule him out of Monday’s friendly against Congo DR.
He was the only fit player who didn’t complete today’s session which happens to be their last at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium before their departure to Port Hacourt, venue of the Congo DR friendly game.
The duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Moses Simon were still missing as they continue to work their way to full fitness owing to the different knocks they are carrying, and they looked certain to miss the Congo DR game.
However, they are expected to be fit for the Super Eagles tie against England in Wembley next month, a game which will precede the naming of the final 23 players who will represent Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia.
