Super Eagles beat Zambia to qualify for Russia 2018

The Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Chipolopolo of Zambia today, played their final March to determine if Nigeria will be the first African team to qualify for Russia 2018.

The first half ended goalless with Ogenyi Onazi leaving the field injured, Mikel Agu replacing him in the 30th minute, and got a booking in the 35th minute.

Another booking for the Super Eagles came in the 62nd minute – given to Abdullahi Shehu. The complexion of the game changed when the first goal came in the 73rd minute by the substitute, Alex Iwobi, who came in the 66th minute to replace William Troost-Ekong.

The lone goal was taken to the end of the match.

Nigeria, therefore, becomes the first African team to qualify for the World Cup in Russia in 2018.
