Sunday Oliseh Wins Best Coach Of The First Stanza In Holland

The coach of Dutch side Fortuna Sittard Sunday Oliseh has won the award for the best coach in the first stanza of the second division league in Holland, thanks to the performance of his team.

Oliseh took over the team in January with the team languishing at the basement of the second division, but he steered them away from relegation and almost got a promotion play-off? spot before they suffered point deduction for financial irregularities.

This season his team are among the candidates for promotion to the top flight league as they are presently in third position, six points behind leaders Jong Ajax and four points behind second placed NEC Nijmegen.

He clinched the award base on his team performance despite their limited budget, and their run of six wins, two draws and three losses also played a part particularly their one month unbeaten run.

Speaking on the award, Oliseh who handled the Super Eagles of Nigeria before moving to the team dedicated it to his players, the management of the team and his assistants.

“I’m very honored to win this prize. Because this is the result of hard work and a lot of help from my players, the fans, my assistants, our chairman Isitan Gün and above all God”, he told the official website of Fortuna Sittard.
