Serie A 2015-16 Review: Top 10 Signings

Published on: 31 May 2016

The 2015-16 Serie A season has drawn to a close and though it may have seen some miserable flops, it also bore witness to many great success stories.

Certain factors should be taken into consideration when compiling a list of this sort, namely the impact which the signing had on this past season as well as the permanence of the transfer, or the potential for further impact. It is for this reason that dry loans were not considered. (with apologies to the Cristian Ansaldis and Susos of the league)

Here are Forza Italian Football’s Top 10 signings of the Serie A season:

10. Elseid Hysaj – Napoli

Much has been made this past season of the Napoli attack spearheaded by record-breaker Gonzalo Higuain, and rightfully so, but less heralded have been the exploits of Albanian youngster Elseid Hysaj. The right-back spent the campaign bombing up and down the right side of the pitch, contributing to the attack while finishing second on the squad in tackles, behind only Allan. The 22-year-old was bought from Empoli for €6 million and his value has since tripled, if reports of Bayern Munich and Barcelona interest are to be believed.
