Italian Serie A side Sampdoria claim their midfielder Alfred Duncan has been handed a call up by Ghana coach Avram Grant for the upcoming friendly games against Senegal and Mali.

But the 22-year-old has not been included in the 22-man squad released by the Ghana Football Association on Friday.

But Sampdoria have confirmed on their website Duncan, signed from Inter Milan, will be joining midfielder Afriyie Acquah for the trip to France where the games will be played.

Duncan, who was a member of the 2013 Ghana U20, is capped once by the West African giants and was named in the preliminary squad for the 2015 AFCON tournament.

But the midfielder failed to show up to train with the team in Accra.

Duncan has played 7 Serie A games for Sampdoria this season after joining from Inter Milan.
