Romelu Lukaku's Father Confirms Summer Everton Departure and Talks Up Man Utd and Bayern Moves

Published on: 17 May 2016

"?The father of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has confirmed the Belgian will leave Goodison Park this summer, and has again stressed that he wants to see the 23-year-old join Manchester United or Bayern Munich.

Everton have put a hefty £65m price tag on Lukaku and are looking to cash in for as close to that figure as they can, though Roger Lukaku thinks it'll be only one of those two clubs - and not a team from Italy's Serie A - who the player will end up joining.

Speaking to Belgian magazine Humo, and as reported by the "?Express, he said: "Right now, I think the most suitable clubs for him are Bayern Munich or Manchester United.

"Especially Bayern as the club every year are at least in the semi-finals of the Champions League and the Bundesliga suits him perfectly. I do not think he will go to Italy because the game is far too closed at the back.

"What is certain is that to continue to progress, he needs to change club, he must make the right choice."

While interest in Lukaku is growing and the likes of Paris Saint Germain have also been linked with a move for him to replace the outgoing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, his father even stated his belief that a transfer will be completed before the player features in Euro 2016 in France.

He added: "Everton are asking around £65m for Rom. I think a transfer will be done before the Euros.

"Romelu will decide his future, but agents have the last word most of the time. I hope and I think Mino Raiola is a honest man."
