Genort Rohr has leaped to the defence of Mikel Agu who didn’t have a very good game for Nigeria after coming on as a substitute for Nigeria in their 1-0 win over Zambia, which sealed their passage to the World Cup 2018 in Russia.

Agu was introduced in place of vice-captain Ogenyi Onazi who went out injured early into the game, but the on loan FC Porto man failed to match the level of the man he replaced..

Rohr was asked about his decision to introduce the Bursaspor midfielder instead of John Ogu who many expected to be introduced especially after Agu’s poor showing in Yaounde against Cameroon .

” This is a question that I can tell you that we won together in this game. It’s not easy to come into a game at the time he came on with just warming up”, Rohr said at the post match conference.

” He came in when the game was very hot on the pitch. He has to learn but you must have the patience. This is a day to celebrate and not t?o talk about players who came in and made mistakes “, he concluded.
