Ravel Morrison Rejected By Newcastle and Bristol City as Lazio Try Desperately to Offload Him

Championship sides Newcastle United and Bristol City have both turned down the chance to sign troubled Lazio attacking midfielder Ravel Morrison, according to the Daily Mail.

It is understood that the former Manchester United prodigy, 23, is being offered to teams in the Championship but Newcastle and Bristol City are just a few of the clubs who have the declined the opportunity to sign him.

Morrison has only made three appearances for Lazio and has struggled to integrate himself into Italian culture since his free transfer from West Ham United last year. It is thought the midfielder, who has played for QPR, Birmingham City and Cardiff City, is keen to find a new club in England.

Reports suggest the former United academy player is eyeing a possible move to  Championship side Nottingham Forest after being rejected by Aston Villa as well as a whole host of other Championship clubs.

Aston Villa Chairman, Dr. Tony Xia, put Morrison's attitude as one of the reasons why he would not be signing him and Lazio boss, Stefano Pioli, made a similar assessment of his attitude earlier this year when explaining Morrison's continued absence from the starting eleven.

"I pick those who deserve to play, who train consistently, professionally and openly," he said.

He added: "Morrison has to work harder. He still doesn't speak a word of Italian and this has slowed his development and his integration in the squad."

According to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old has been spotted around Manchester this week in the hope of pushing through a move to an English club before the transfer window slams shut.
