Ghana international defender Rashid Sumaila has returned to South Africa and is set to rejoin Mamelodi Sundowns for training.

The 22-year-old touched down in Pretoria on Thursday morning and will resume training with the Brazilians on Monday.

"I've arrived here and I'm looking forward to resuming training with the rest of squad and later on meeting with the officials to discuss my future with the club," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Sundowns have recalled the center-back, who was part of the Ghana squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and are set to register him for their CAF Champions League campaign next season.

Sumaila joined Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko on loan due to his inability to secure regular playing time at Sundowns.

But he was inactive during his loan spell at Kotoko due to the delayed start of the Ghana Premier League.
