FC Ifeanyiubah Ghanaian coach Yaw Preko has said he is concerned the Federation Cup holders are yet to pick any points on the road this season.
‘The Anambra Warriors’ have shipped in eight goals and managed a solitary strike in four games on the road following a 3-0 (boardroom decision) defeat at Kano Pillars on the opening day of the season, 1-0 defeat at ABS FC, 3-1 defeat at Wikki Tourists and a 1-0 loss at Katsina United.
"It is worrisome I must say", admitted Preko, who cast a look of a worried man.
"An ambitious team must try to win points away, but so far we've not done that.
"Maybe, initially our focus and attention was divided between our CAF Confederation Cup quest and the league but right now we are no more in the continent.
"So, it is important we focus on the league because losing all our four games and scoring just only a goal in the four games is not a true reflection of the potentials and quality in FC Ifeanyiubah.
"Now that we are out of the continent, we need to sit down and restrategize and that has to do with the fact we must have to win away from home."
Preko further expressed confidence in the quality of players at his disposal, saying they are experienced enough having seen action at top levels of the game.
"The commitment is there but they need to give much more than they are giving at the moment. With hard work and togetherness, definitely we must achieve our goals," he assured.
Preko has continued to rotate his squad with four changes to the side who pegged back Plateau United 1-0 on Sunday.
"There is a lot of fatigue in the team. We play continental, travel long distances to play league matches Sunday and Wednesday,” he said.
"Sometimes the travels take like 10 hours or more. The players are human beings. The FA has to do something about this but if it is the sacrifice we have to make so be it.
"In situations like this, yes, you have to rotate your squad to strike a balance of freshness".
