Pillars, Dreams, El-Kanemi Advance in Fed Cup

The Round of 64 matches of this year's men Federation Cup competition, as well as the first round matches of the women competition, continued yester across the country, with Kano Pillars, El-Kanemi Warriors, Dreams FC and Kwara United all booking their passage to the Round of 32 after recording victories in the matches.

Pillars defeated Gateway 1-0 in Lokoja, while Kwara United whitewashed Galadima Best 7-0 in Abuja. Another match played in Abuja yesterday saw Dynamite pummeled Damaturu 8-1, while the match El-Kanemi Warriors and Katsina Feeders ended 2-0 in favour if the NPFL side.

Dreams FC, the club owned by ex-international Dominic Iorfa defeated neighbours Akwanga Selected 4-2 on penalties after their tie in Jos ended 1-1 in regulation time, FC Zamfara walked over Almar while Abia Comets defeated Nembe City 2-0. ABS also defeated Yenagoa City 1-0 to advance while match Nasarawa United and FC Abuja was abandoned.

In the women's version, FC Robo lost 2-3 to Rivers Angels, Abia Angels eliminated Rising Queens 3-2, Ibom Angels bundled out Edo Queens 1-0, while Osun Queens walked over Alberto Queens in Oleh.
