While it is still a big ask for Villa to reach the play-offs, Bruce has arrested the dwindling atmosphere around the club, and can be optimistic of leading a proper promotion charge next season.

One lucky fan managed to catch Bruce in a local kebab shop, in full training gear. Could Bruce have been picking up a large order for his Villa side after the weekend? Probably not, given that his players threw away a 2-0 lead against Preston North End to draw with their Championship rivals.
Maybe the former Manchester United defender plans to burn off the calories on the training ground as Villa prepare for their next Championship game against Brentford at the end of the month.
