"?Leicester City winger Demarai Gray has been caught inhaling potentially lethal laughing gas.
The youngster posted videos on his Snapchat account of himself amongst others taking the substance, which is also known as hippy crack, which is said to mimic the effects of crack cocaine or heroin.
The video, as shown by "?the Mirror, was posted online just hours after Leicester's Boxing Day defeat to Everton, and shows Gray inhaling the laughing gas, which is known as a legal high but has been campaigned against by anti-drug preachers due to the deprivation of oxygen to the brain it causes, meaning it can be potentially lethal.
"He sent the video out himself on Snapchat, which was a really silly thing to do. He is meant to be looking after himself and staying fit and healthy "? and this is pretty irresponsible behaviour," a source told the Mirror.
"His bosses won't be happy and there's a chance he's got a clause in his contract which bans players from taking substances like this."?
Gray is not the first player to be caught inhaling laughing gas, with Tottenham's Kyle Walker, Manchester City's Raheem Sterling and West Brom's Saido Berahino all previously being pictured with the substance. All three later issued apologies.
"We expect the highest standards of behaviour from our players and for them to respect their position as role models. The matter has been discussed with Demarai, he has apologised for his poor judgement and accepted the internal disciplinary process,"? a Leicester City statement reads.
There is a risk that nitrous oxide can starve the brain of oxygen, while it can also lead to behavioural problems, issues with memory and cases of psychotic incidents.
