Algeria coach Christian Gourcuff has ordered injured duo Mehdi Abeid and Essaid Belkalem to report to camp on Friday to be assessed by the medical team.

Abeid, who plays for English Premier League side Newcastle United, has picked up a toe injury.

Trabzonspor defender Belkalem suffered a thigh injury and had to replaced in last Monday’s defeat at home in the Turkish Super Lig.

Les Fennecs medical team wants to ascertain the severity of their injuries and see if they will be fit or the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations which starts in less than three weeks.

Gourcuff has a seven-man standby list to make chances if the two players fail to convince them.

Algeria's first Group C match will be against South Africa on 19 January in Mongomo.
