Onyekuru Plays 82 Minutes As Galatasaray Bag Away Win In Season Opener

Nigerian forward, Henry Onyekuru’s debut appearance for Galatasaray ended on a winning note as the Turkish champions beat Ankaragucu 3-1 in the opening game of the season at the Osmanli Stadium, Ankara on Friday.

Onyekuru started the game and was replaced eight minutes from time by Algerian midfielder, Sofiane Feghouli.

The forward is on loan at the Galatasaray from English Premier League club, Everton.

Ankaragucu’s Nigerian forward, Kehinde Fatai came in for Younnes Mokhtar in the 74th minute.

His compatriot, Nduka Ozokwo, a former junior international was an unused substitute in the game.

Moestafa ElKabir put the hosts ahead in the seventh minute, but Galatasaray equalised through Serdar Aziz in the 21st minute.

Bakary Kone conceded an own goal on the half hour mark to hand the visitors the lead for the first time in the game, while Eren Derdiyok got the third for Fathi Terim’s men two minutes into added time.
