Enyimba midfielder, Dare Ojo, has backed the team to bounce back from Wednesday’s disappointing CAF Confederation Cup 3-0 loss to Congolese club, Atletique Renaissance Aiglons (CARA).

The two-time Africans champions who were the favourites going into the game paid for their erratic defending as they let in three goals within five first half minutes in the encounter played at the Stade Alphonse Massamba, Debat.

The People’s Elephant also lost top the position in the group and have dropped to third following the defeat.

Ivorien club, Williamsville top the group with four points following a 1-1 draw against Mali’s Djoliba in Bamako on Wednesday, while CARA sit in second position.

“We were not up to our best in the game and paid dearly for that. They were more determined than us and deserved the three points,” Ojo told CSN.

“We conceded three quick goals and fought hard to get back into the game, but they were solid at the back.

“It’s important for us not to dwell too much on that and concentrate on the next game. We have picked valuable lessons from the defeat which will be useful for us in future.”

The Aba side will face Williamsville in their next group game on Wednesday, July 18 at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.
