Michelle Alozie will join the Chicago Stars in 2026 with the club set to play at its new home, Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium in Evanston, Illinois, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Stars have acquired the defender from the Houston Dash in exchange for $40,000 in allocation money and have handed her a three-year contract that will keep her in Chicago through the 2028 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season.
Alozie joined the Houston Dash in 2021 as a national team replacement player and earned a full contract later that same season.
She went on to sign a contract extension after the 2024 campaign and made a strong impact during her time in Houston, scoring seven goals and providing two assists across all competitions.
In total, the defender featured in 80 matches for the Dash, starting 37 of those games. She also played a key role in helping Houston secure a postseason berth in 2022, starting the quarterfinal clash against the Kansas City Current at Shell Energy Stadium.
“Michelle’s proven ability at both ends of the pitch, experience and leadership skills will be valuable assets for our team over the next few years,” said Stars general manager, Richard Feuz. “We are excited to welcome her to Chicago as we continue to build for 2026.”
