Official: 2010 World Cup Star Kalu Uche Makes ATK Switch

India Super League side ATK have announced the capture of ex-Super Eagles attacker, Kalu Uche.

The striker who spent a great portion of his playing career in Spain has penned a deal that will see him team up with former Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane who featured in a player/manager role for ATK towards the end of last season.

The Aba-born signed for the Delhi Dynamos in 2017 for a reported $129,999 fee and his stellar run of form in the recently-concluded 2017/18 season, surely influenced ATK to seek his services in a deal which according to sportskeeda.com will see him become one of the highest paid players in the Indian Super League.

The skilful forward scored a remarkable 13 goals in 15 appearances for Delhi Dynamos last campaign but the club finished the campaign in 8th position.

ATK in the previous season, finished in 9th place in the 10-team league with just 4 wins and as many draws from 18 games and will hope that the Nigerian striker’s addition will improve their performance in the upcoming season.

The 35-year-old has plenty of experience, making 35 international appearances for Nigeria and having long stints at Polish football club Wisla Krakow (2001-2005) and Spanish La Liga side Almeria (2005-2011).

Kalu Uche last represented Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
