NPFL UPDATE: Rangers Seek First Win Vs El-Kanemi, While Pillars Host 3SC

Enugu Rangers will be out to pick their first win of the campaign in the Nigeria Professional Football League when they host El-Kanemi Warriors in a matchday-three clash at ‘The Cathedral’ Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium Enugu tomorrow.

The NPFL champions are still without a win after two rounds of matches and will be desperate to get their campaign back on track with a win in the game.

New signing, Fortune Omoniwari will be the man to look up to once again after scoring in his first two games for the Coal City side.

El-Kanemi lost their last away game to Rivers United but head into the game in confident mood after beating Wikki Tourists 2-1 on Thursday.

The Yakubu Gowon Stadium Port Harcourt will host the clash between high flying Rivers United and Niger Tornadoes.

The home side are unbeaten this season with a win and draw from their opening two games, while Tornadoes are still searching for their first win of the campaign.

Former champions, Enyimba have a chance to redeem themselves  following their 3-1 defeat by Plateau United when they entertain Gombe United at their adopted home ground, the UJ Esuene Stadium Calabar.

Both teams have lost one and drew one from two games.

In Kano, Shooting Stars will test their might against a wounded Kano Pillars side who conceded a 1-0 defeat to Lobi Stars in the midweek.

The Oluyole Warlords themselves lost their last fixture to South- West rivals, Sunshine Stars.

At the Gateway Stadium Shagamu, visiting Abia Warriors’ unbeaten run will be on the line when they face Remo Stars. The Okey Emordi led side have won their opening two games, while the Sky Blue Stars have lost theirs.

The other team with a hundred percent record in the league this season, Plateau United will be at home to Sunshine Stars. A win for the side coached by Kennedy Boboye will see them hold on to first position in the table.

It will be the battle between two northern brothers as Katsina United take on Nasarawa United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in another matchday-three game on Sunday.

The visitors are winless this season, while Katsina United have recorded a win and a loss from two games.

Ilorin fans can also look forward to an exciting time when their darling team ABS tackle FC IfeanyiUbah at the  Kwara State Stadium Complex on Sunday.

ABS have been impressive on their return to the top flight securing four points from a possible six.

The Anambra Warriors, FC IfeanyiUbah, are in devastating form after hammering MFM FC 4-0 in their last game.

Abdul Maikaba’s Akwa United will do battle with his former club, Wikki Tourists in Bauchi. The two teams are yet to record a win in the league this season.
