NPFL UPDATE: FC IfeanyiUbah Appoint Ezenwa As New Captain

FC IfeanyiUbah have named Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa as their new captain ahead of the start of 2016/ 2017 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

The experienced shot stopper took over from Wilson Elu who will now act as the deputy skipper of the Anambra Warriors.

"Ikechukwu Ezenwa will captain our team (FC IfeanyiUbah) for the new season," Paul Ezeka, the media officer of the club revealed to our team.

"He is an individual with exemplary leadership qualities which is what we are looking for.

" He is also a popular figure among his teammates, and we hope his captaincy will bring luck to the team.

Ezenwa linked up with the Nnewi-based side from Sunshine Stars during the mid-season transfer window last term.

The Federation Cup winners will face Kano Pillars in the opening fixture of the 2016/2017 NPFL season at the Sani Abacha Stadium today (Saturday)
