NPFL UPDATE: Akwa United Unveil Maikaba As New Coach

Published on: 02 November 2016

Akwa United have unveiled Abdu Maikaba as their new head coach.

The former Kano Pillars and Enyimba assistant coach penned a two- year deal with the Promise Keepers.

He was presented to the club faithful on Wednesday by club chief Paul Bassey in Uyo. Maikaba took over from Maurice Cooreman who was sacked following the Uyo-based club’s poor showing in the NPFL and on the continent last season.

Maikaba guided Wikki Tourists to third position in the Nigeria Professional Football League last term but has decided to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere. He will look to replicate the same level of success at his new club.
