Abia Warriors have suspended defender Valentine Nwabili and fined Kalu Nweke for indiscipline.

The club took the decisions after examining the circumstances involving the two players as reported by the technical crew.

According to the report, Nwabili, against the instruction of the club’s technical consultant, claimed he travelled to Minna, Niger State, to meet with his parents but was asked to report back to camp on Monday, 12th September, but as at Thursday he had not showed up at Umuahia.

The former Enyimba defender has therefore  been suspended indefinitely.

In the other case, Kalu Nweke was fined heavily after he was found guilty of insulting a member of the Technical Crew during a training session. The money is to be deducted from his next salary.

In his reaction, Abia Warrior’s technical consultant, Abdullahi Biffo, said the players must embrace discipline for the team to move ahead.

He lamented that while every other player and coach as well as other support staff agreed not to embark on any holiday, Valentine insisted on travelling but failed to come back the following Monday as was agreed.
