Nigerian International Omeruo Set For Another Loan Spell with Besiktas

According to trusted media sources in Turkey, Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo will be heading to Turkish Champions Besiktas on a season long loan deal. The loan will be Omeruo’s sixth loan spell since joining Chelsea in 2012 and with the 22 year old having less than two years to run on his current deal with Chelsea, they are speculations that his loan deal to Besiktas carries an option for them to buy him permanently in the summer of 2017.

Last season he caught the eyes of the manager of Besiktas Senol Gunes during his loan time with Kasimpasa where he made 25 appearances including a strong showing against Besiktas, shutting out last season top scorer Mario Gomez for the entire duration of the game which Kasimpasa won 2-1.

However his debut for Besiktas could come very late into the season as he has reportedly agree to represent Nigeria at the Olympic games in Rio.

A regular member of the Nigeria senior national team since 2013, the former Middlesbrough loanee is one of the players that the head coach of the Nigeria U-23s is counting on to bolster his backline during the Olympics.
