NFF breaks victorious Golden Eaglets camp, set to reconvene for Presidential dinner

The newly crowned 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup champions, Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, received a worthy reception on Wednesday night and were yesterday decamped and would reconvene on November 29 for a Presidential reception in Aso Rock Villa.

New Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Solomon Danlong, who disclosed this while speaking at the dinner organised for the Eaglets at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, said he has come to effect change in the sports sector.

He said, “The era of baboon is working, monkey is eating is gone, the era of use and dump is over, players must be well taken care of even after retirement. We are here to effect change in sports sector.”

Speaking also, the Director General of National Sports Commission (NSC), Alhassan Yakmut, noted that President Muhammadu Buhari would receive the Golden Eaglets alongside other sports medal winners in international competitions on the 29th of this month at the State House.

On his own, Coach Emmanuel Amuneke thanked the NFF, NSC as well as all Nigerians for their prayers and support before, during and after the competition

“Our desire is to make Nigerians happy which by the grace of God today, we have achieved,” Amuneke said.
