Newly signed Great Olympics goalkeeper Richard Kingson will double up as stop-gap goalkeepers’ trainer on his return to the club, according to head coach Kassim Mingle.

The former Wigan and Blackpool gloves man has signed a one-year deal subject to the issuance of his International Transfer Certificate.

Kingson has not played competitive football since leaving Turkish side Balikesirspor in 2014.

Olympics are confident the veteran Ghana goalkeeper can help in a coaching capacity as the club prepare to lose goalkeepers' trainer to the national women's team.

“We have a regular goalkeeper’s trainer here but he is preparing to leave on national assignment with the Black Queens and when he does Richard will take over and act as both a coach and a player,” Mingle told Accra-based Citi FM.
