New Juventus Signing Dani Alves: I Would Like To Play Alongside Paul Pogba

Dani Alves wants to play alongside Paul Pogba when the new Serie A season kicks off, according to the Daily Star, after the Brazilian completed his free transfer to the Italian champions on Monday, having spent eight trophy-laden seasons with Barcelona.

"I think he is an important element of the team and a really great player. I expect to play alongside him, which is going to be a great honour," said the 33-year-old.

"There are other incredible players in this team as well, who also have a lot to say for themselves. I'm truly delighted to share this experience with them. A team is formed up of individuals, and it's when they come together that you can achieve results."

Despite this, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is targeting the French superstar as he looks to spend big, with the Red Devils reported to have opened talks with Pogba's representatives with the intention of bringing the midfielder back to Old Trafford.

"?Pogba's agent Mino Raiola is reportedly meeting with Mourinho and United officials to discuss the terms of the transfer and personal terms with the player, although nothing has as yet been agreed with the Italian club.

"?Dani Alves won an eye-watering number of honours with Barcelona, including, six La Liga titles, four Copa Del Reys, four Supercopas, three UEFA Champions Leagues, three UEFA Super Cups and three FIFA Club World Cups.

With all this experience, it is not surprising Juventus were quick to pick up the Brazilian defender on a free.
