Ndidi: Super Eagles Must Forget Croatia Defeat, Focus On Important Iceland Clash

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi insists the team must forget Saturday’s Russia 2018 World Cup 2-0 defeat to Croatia and concentrate on the next game against Iceland.

Gernot Rohr’s men put up a shambolic display against the Vatreni and must avoid defeat against Iceland at the Volgograd Arena on Friday to keep alive their hopes of making to the round of 16.

Iceland, who are playing at the World Cup for the first time, battled two-time winners Argentina to a 1-1 draw in their first fixture in Moscow.

The Leicester City star also issued a rallying cry to his teammates to ensure they manage the situation well and not allow it affect their performance against Iceland.

“We are the ones that played the game and as Nigerians, we are disappointed with the result too,” Heidi said in a short video posted by former Super Eagles media officer Colin Udoh from the team’s base in Essentuki.

“I understand the fact that everyone is disappointed but we just have to manage the situation and move forward to the next game which is very important and forget about what happened against Croatia.”
