Nigeria will have the compliment of Nantes defender Chidozie Awaziem when they begin their World Cup preparations next month with two friendly games against Serbia and Poland respectively.
Awaziem missed the last one month with an injury, but he is now fully fit and took part in full time training with the rest of his teammates ahead of their weekend Ligue 1 clash against Nice.
Fifth placed Nantes will take on France Europa League representative on Sunday with Awaziem expected to at least make the squad for the game following his full recovery.
He is one of the favourite defenders of the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr, and his return to full fitness has put him in the frame to continue in his role as one of the central defenders of the team when they regroup next month.
21 year old Awaziem has been ever present for Nantes this season with 17 games to his name plus a goal from his role as one of the central defender of the coach Claudio Ranieri tutored side.
