Super Eagles star Victor Moses will look to join the exclusive list of Nigerian players that have lifted the English FA Cup trophy when the Chelsea face Manchester United in Saturday’s funal at Wembley Stadium.

Antonio Conte’s men, who have endured a torrid campaign that saw them surrender their Premier League title without a fight to Manchester City and finished in fifth position, will look to end the season on a high by lifting the trophy.

Moses, who was sent off in last season’s final 2- 1 defeat against Arsenal, has a chance to pick a winner’s medal this time around and atone for the disappointment of the last time.

Incidentally, Moses’ compatriot and Super Eagles teammate Alex Iwobi won last season’s FA Cup final with Arsenal.

The quintet of Daniel Amokachi (1995), Nwankwo Kanu (2002, 200, 2008) Celestine Babayaro (2000), Mikel Obi (2007, 2009, 2010, 2012) and John Utaka (2008) are the other Nigerians to have won the English FA Cup in the past.

Other African players to have won the trophy include Bill Perry, a South African who was the first African to have tasted success in the competition with Blackpool in 1953, Ivorien quartet, Kolo Toure , Yaya Toure, Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou.

Others are former world player of the year, George Weah, Ghanaian duo, Micheal Essien and Sulley Muntari former Zimbabwe goalkeeper, Bruce Grobbelaar, and Cameroon’s Lauren Etame Mayer.

Moses has made two appearances for Chelsea in the competition but he is expected to be in the starting line-up against the Red Devils.
