Mitrovic Should Play Against Oxford as Barrow Loan Looks Likely to Go Down to the Wire

"?Rafa Benitez is considering playing "?Aleksandar"? Mitrovic against Oxford United in the FA Cup clash as the transfer for Modou Barrow looks like its going to go to deadline day.

Mitrovic last game for Newcastle United was against Birmingham City in the cup when he was stretchered off after 10 Minutes into the first half. He is a vital part for Newcastle United's push for promotion this season, even though he has only scored 3 goals all season so far compared to Dwight Gayle's 20 goals.

If Mitrovic is restored to the front line of attack against Oxford, he will provide a goal threat which Newcastle United are missing, despite the fact Daryl Murphy has come in and proved that age doesn't matter, and even being 3rd/4th choice striker, he can provide the goods when needed.

Newcastle United's loan transfer for Modou Barrow from Swansea has hit a stumbling block with Swansea preferring to sell the 24 year old Gambian striker rather than loan him out.

Newcastle could look at a loan with the option to buy the striker at end of the season, but could this mean the end of Daryl Murphy's stay at Newcastle United after only having one season with them?
"?
"?Newcastle United aren't short of striking options especially with the up and coming talents they have coming through the youth squads. Also, with the likes of Adam Armstrong on loan to Barnsley having extended his spell with the Tykes and proving his worth, Rafa will not be short of striking options come next season if Newcastle United are promoted back to the Premier League.
