Mikel to Snub Senegal, B/Faso Friendlies

Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel, may not feature in the friendly matches against has reportedly pulled out of Senegal and Burkina-Faso in London.

It was gathered that Mikel has requested to be excused from the games to enable him settle down in his new club, new club Tianjin Teda, as the League will just be few weeks old at the time of the games.

The 29-year-old midfielder, it was learnt has been granted permission by coach Gernot Rohr to miss the games.

For now Mikel is the only player among the three Super Eagles players playing in China who have requested to be left out of the game, as the duo of Brown Ideye and Odion Ighalo are yet to toe same line.

The games will be played in London and it’s meant to prepare the Eagles for their Nations Cup 2019 qualifiers as well as the World Cup 2018 qualifiers.
