Tianjin TEDA captain, Mikel Obi, will be eyeing his 12th start for Tianjin TEDA today (Wednesday) when they face home side, Shanghai Shenhua at the Kongkou Stadium.

Former Nigeria striker, Obafemi Martins, is not available for Shenhua against his compatriot. The speedy forward has been ruled out of action till the end of the year due to a cruciate ligament injury.

The game will also be Mikel’s 25th Chinese Super League start in 25 games since he joined the club last season.

The former Chelsea of England star has scored only once in 11 league games for the club this term and will hope to add another today and lead Tianjin TEDA to victory which will lift them from their current 10th position in the table, and topple their hosts who are eighth.

A goal for the Nigerian will also increase his overall haul since 2017 to three, two more than the lone goal he scored in 249 premier league appearances for Chelsea in 10 years.
